How to play & Beer Olympics Rules
The rules of beer olympics are pretty simple. Each event has it’s own rules. This page will cover the general rules of how to host a beer olympics party night.
Beer
You’ll need lots of it. We tend to aim for around 10 cans of lager per person. I don’t think we’ve ever used that much, but it’s a start – there WILL be spillage!
Teams
Split up in to teams. Two teams usually works the best as some of the events can last a while and with more than two teams, it can take its time!
Events
Pick the events that you want to all take part in. We normally get through around 5 or 6 in one evening (depending on the number of people taking part).
Referee
It can be fun to “employ” a referee for the evening. This can be the person who maybe doesn’t drink – or simply doesn’t want to take part. The job of the referee is pretty obvious. They can also give out penalties for cheating.
Scoring
Each event has it’s own scoring system. Bonus points can be awarded by event. Teams or an individual can win an event..those points are then added up and the team with the most obviously wins! You can also have individual winners.
Fancy Dress
Why not make it more fun and ask people to dress up. The obvious theme is olympic fancy dress….
- Summer olympic events (swimmer, judo, horse rider, athlete etc)
- Winter events (ski, figure skater etc)
- Toga (the first olympics!)
