- a word, or a collection of words to use throughout the night
- a referee or someone paying attention to catch other people out!

Rules:

You pick a word, or a collection of words which are NOT allowed to be said for the duration of beer olympics.

If someone says this word, they have to take a drink – or do a penalty. You should pick a word which may be common, but not so common that it becomes unmanageable.

Typical words include

• “cheated”
• “win”
• “loser”
• “they didn’t drink”
• “wee” – as in, “I’m dying for a wee!” (crude, I know.. but it works a treat!)
• “drunk”

- a stick, broom handle, string, ribbon… anything you can find to “Limbo” under!

Rules:

Every member of each team can join in with this one.

Usual Limbo rules apply, but the difference being every time you Limbo under the stick you have to down a cup of beer!

Once everyone has been under, lower the bar.

See how low the bar gets before someone falls down… Last person standing wins points for their team!

Just follow the simple three step plan…

1. Limbo under the bar (no cheating, for example twisting your back… it’s a proper limbo or nothing!)
2. Take a drink
3. Join the queue for your next attempt

Two people with a beer each

Rules

Two people sit opposite each other (or ideally on the corner of a table).

They arm wrestle as normal, but in their other free hand they have a beer. As the arm wrestling starts, the must drink. You must drink continuously as you wrestle. If you finish your beer before the wrestle is over, someone should fill you back up. Simply, you continue until someone loses!!

A designated running route! Lots of cups and Beer.

Rules:

You can make the running route as long or as short as you wish. However, from experience, the best routes are always around 5-10 seconds long each way. Make sure everyone knows where they are running too, or this game could be a disaster!

All team members need to pour themselves a cup of beer and place this at the half way point before the race starts.

Line up your team at the starting point and on the Referee’s whistle the first member runs to the half way point, drinks ALL their beer, then runs back as fast as they can to tag their following team member to then run their leg of the race. Easy!

First team that crosses the finish line first, wins!

Cocktail sticks, a shot glass (or small cup) and beer

Rules

The aim of the game is to get the cocktail sticks in to the glass / cup.

You start with 10 cocktail sticks (Javelins) and a beer. Place the target (your shot glass) around 1.5 metres (4-5ft) away.

Start by simply throwing the cocktail stick at the glass. If you miss, you drink! If you get the cocktail stick IN the shot glass, you get 5 points towards your team’s score (if you are scoring!). You could make EVERYONE in the room who’s not on your team drink too!

- 20 cups
- a flat surface
- stopwatch (or some sort of timing device!)

Rules:

Each member of your team can play this one.

Select one member with each round to compete against the other team. Line up 10 cups in front of each person and half fill with beer.

Both players start at the same end and on the referee’s whistle its….

On your marks… Get set… DRINK!!

First one to finish wins points for their team!

All the cups must be empty – and to make it fair, we use one can of beer per person – they can then spread it evenly across the ten cups.

2 ping pong balls, 12 cups and plenty of beer.
(a waterproof mat might be required too!)

Rules

The aim of Beer Pong is to eliminate your opponents by getting the ping pong balls in to their cups.

Set up 6 cups at one end in a triangle formation and 6 cups at the other end. The cups should be around 2 metres apart. Fill each cup up with beer. Two

team members from each team should sit behind the cups at either end.

Take it in turns, one team member has two goes at throwing the ping pong ball at the opponents cups. If they miss both times, it’s the other teams go. If one or more goes in the cup, the team member has to drink the contents and the cup is removed from the arena of beer.

You can either bounce the ball in to the cups (one bounce and hopefully in) OR you can try to throw it straight in with no bounce. BUT… the other team are allowed to then try to catch the ball. If they do, you drink and that’s your go over.

This continues until one team has elimintated the other by getting ping pong balls in all their cups.
